Well, we made it back home alive and well. And not a moment too soon, because the day after we rolled into our driveway in Nashville, Tennessee, the truck decided to shoot a spark plug out of the cylinder head and into the underside of the hood leaving a huge dent behind. So the Tacoma made it 6,325 miles across this great nation of ours and back, but the trip from the driveway to the front yard for a good washing was a little too much to take. Repairs are underway as I write this.

Be sure to check back, as we'll be adding more photos and even some video clips to our posts. We took over 2,000 pictures on this journey, and it’s going to take some work to sort through everything and decide what's web-worthy.

Thank you, everyone, for following along on our great big trip. It truly was the trip of a lifetime, and we were so happy to have you along for the ride. We're already planning a much more ambitious trip, but this isn't the kind of thing you can pull off every year. Right now we have our eye on Summer 2008.
