One Day Down

Well, after one day of driving we made it safe and sound to Oklahoma City. We scored a pretty nice hotel room for $28 plus tax, complete with a microwave, a mini fridge, and six of the best channels cable TV has to offer. The room also has a phone line, which has become a magical gateway to "the Internet" with a little help from a free trial CD from our friends at AOL. Wow, the Internet sure was slow in 1996.

We took some cool pictures, which we'll start posting on here eventually. Time to sleep.

This can't be the Zach and Jenny that I know. No way. I know a Zach who thinks blogging is way lame. He told me so. Hmm, must be a weird coincidence.

Have a fun trip, bizarro Zach and Jenny.

If by pretty nice hotel you mean a room that sounds like it's in the middle of the Indy 500 with hair all over the sheets (see photographic recreation in our next post) and small soaps from no less than three separate hotel chains, then yea, it was pretty great. Otherwise the day went of well - it seems the two huge tubs of food I packed along with the veg restaraunt guide provided by Sarah really will keep us fed, and driving for 12 hours isn't that bad at all when you aren't doing any actual driving.

Blogging, itself, is not lame, provided that you're actually "web-logging" something. A big, long trip, for instance, is something that can make good use of a "log" of some sort. This is not the same as spending the day at work arguing with the Viking about Jackson Chang's hair.
